Leaving the studio… :-(

So the time has come… It’s time to leave the studio. It’s been a fun run while I chased my dream of having a studio and shooting full time. But I’m sad to say that I just couldn’t make it. The bills at the studio are just way to high, and the jobs coming in are way too few. I’ve been struggling with this decision for quite some time now. I know that a lot of people will be disappointed with my decision, and for that, I’m sorry. But I thank everyone that showed support while I struggled working a full time job, trying to run a business and make it successful, and raising a daughter. The support was definitely appreciated. However, June will mark my last month at Living Light Studio.

Now I know a lot of my clients will have questions, and hopefully I can answer them here. If not, feel free to contact me. My email address and cell will not change, and my web site will remain, as I will continue shooting weddings at the least. Anyway, to my current and past clients… I will still maintain your images, and you can continue to order prints, albums, discs, etc. If you have me scheduled to shoot your wedding, I will still be there, and you will still have access to ordering albums, prints, canvases, and everything else I showed you in the studio when we met. Like I said, I will continue to shoot weddings, and engagements. I can also still be contacted to shoot family photos, or senior portraits, however those sessions will have to occur in your home, or outdoors on location.

Bob Bossinger will continue to operate at Living Light Studio. He is a great friend, and it was amazing working with him there. I hope to continue shooting with Bob on occasion, and wish him all the best at the studio. Also, Bob is taking over my studio equipment. So please, no emails asking me to sell you something… everything has already been accounted for. ;-)

Again, thank you everyone for your support at the studio! But continue watching my blog and website as I continue to shoot engagements and weddings!

So Bob and I did these CW15 On The Street spots the other week that aired before the America’s Next Top Model auditions that we co-sponsored! Check them out! They originally aired on Tuesday, April 6. Sorry it took so long to get them on the blog, but we just got the files… lol! Enjoy!

April Fooled…

Ok… so this morning, I updated my personal Facebook status, and sent an email out to some of my closest friends…

I’m contemplating giving up. Things just aren’t working out. I don’t know if it’s the business end of things, or the photography, but I just can’t hack it. I have some Canon L lenses, a 5D, and a 1D Mk III among other studio items. If I sell what I have, I can be out of debt… It just may be really hard to walk away from my passion… But I think it’s time to end things…

Yes… it’s April 1st… yes… this is an April Fool’s joke… lol… Sorry! But I have to admit that I did have fun with it! lol! Some people weren’t fooled… Others were… Some even pointed out that it’s been done before (which had I been following Scott’s blog prior to this year, I might have known and not done this on my own, lol). But none the less, I got some interesting responses… some in public view, others private. Some people were upset, some confused. But I did actually get a lot of good advice, even if it wasn’t actually needed. Anyway, here are the comments from the Facebook post… Till next year, Happy Lie Like a Dog and Get Away With it by Saying “April Fools!” Day! ;) lol!

Memador Albums Closure

Ok… so today I got word from my friend (and fellow wedding photographer) Lisa (http://www.lisanikole.com), that Memador Albums closed their doors today… for good. It was only appropriate that I get the news from Lisa since Lisa was the one that turned me on to these albums… lol…

Anyway, what does that mean for my clients? Well fortunately, I didn’t have any outstanding orders with them! So no one is directly affected. But if you had your eye on one of these magnificent albums, we’re out of luck.

I’m currently looking into other high-end album companies in order to find a replacement product that looks just as great. Once I find one, I’ll definitely let everyone know!
